FAQ's
Is it hard to install cabinets yourself?
Installing cabinets can be a challenging DIY project that requires accurate measuring, leveling, and basic carpentry skills. Wall cabinets especially demand precision and secure anchoring.
What tools do I need to install cabinets?
You’ll need a drill/driver, stud finder, level, tape measure, shims, clamps, and possibly a circular saw or jigsaw for modifications. A helper is also highly recommended for lifting and positioning.
Do I install upper or base cabinets first?
Always install upper cabinets first. This prevents having to reach over lower cabinets or countertops and gives you more space to work.
How do I make sure my cabinets are level and secure?
Use a long level and shims to adjust for uneven walls or floors. Cabinets should be anchored into wall studs using appropriate-length screws for a strong hold.
Should I assemble cabinets before installation?
Yes—assemble all cabinets before mounting. Flat-pack or RTA (ready-to-assemble) cabinets should be fully built and checked for squareness before installation begins.
